Early Spring Style + Recap of my Paris trip!

Shop this look: Knit grey sweater (similar) // Zara blush skirt // Louis Vuitton purse

Happy Saturday! I am loving this sunny, warm weather in Barcelona and it is getting me so excited for spring shopping and outfit planning. Early spring is one of my favorite times of year because I can hide my huge, black puffer coat and boots in the back of my closet and have a little more fun with fashion again! I love to experiment with layers and juxtapose cozy winter knits with vibrant hues and Easter-like pastels. That's why I love the outfit I styled above — the blush-colored skirt (which was only $25 at Zara by the way) is the perfect way to make a grey sweater that I wore all winter feel fun and new again. For a slightly chillier day, I would add gray tights and a furry vest.

I actually bought this skirt for my recent weekend trip to Paris, but it was so cold and rainy that it was covered by my winter coat. However, despite the weather, Paris was still the most beautiful place I have ever seen. I have dreamed of going there and seeing the Eiffel Tower since I was little and the city truly lived up to all the hype. The architecture, food, shopping and museums truly were c'est magnifique. I hope I get to go back someday!

Here are some of my favorite photos from the trip:

At Musée D'Orsay — still can't believe I got to see the works of Van Gogh and Monet.

Ciao Italia

Location: Palazzo Barberini
Shop this look: Maison Scotch hat // H&M tissue turtleneck (similar here)
Forever 21 plaid skirt (similar here) // Tory Burch purse // J. Crew scarf

Last weekend, I had the amazing opportunity to travel to Rome. I have always wanted to go to Italy, as I am a big fan of pizza, pasta and gelato. And it did not disappoint. But what wowed me even more than the food was just how old everything was in Rome. It was surreal strolling past all of the ancient architecture like the Colosseum and Roman Forum. I loved this trip because we didn't have any plans. We walked into cafes and restaurants that we thought looked good, wandered into a "secret garden" that was actually the ancient estate of a famous Roman architect (pictured above), and even had an impromptu picnic in a park. Back home, I plan every second of every day, but I have realized that I can't do this while I'm abroad. Since I am traveling to such unfamiliar places, I don't know what is going to be around the corner — or even what I will eat for lunch! But I am so thankful for this experience because I feel like it is making me more open-minded and adventurous. I love being exposed to all of these different cultures and I can't wait for even more trips like this one.

Here are some highlights from my trip to Rome:

Our first stop was the gorgeous Trevi Fountain. Only thing missing was Lizzie McGuire, of course!

Bucatini all'amatriciana: This was the first pasta I tasted in Italy! My friend Charlotte, who is studying in Rome, recommended that I try it because it is a Roman specialty, and I am so glad that I did! The spicy sauce consists of guanciale (a type of cured salami that reminds me of bacon), cheese, tomato and red pepper flakes. I am definitely going to try to make it myself but I know there's no way  it will match up to this authentic Italian meal.

We found many stands with vibrant, fresh flowers on the streets.

First gelato experience in Rome at the famous Giolitti (clearly I am very happy here)! The best part is the cream they put on top!

For lunch on the first day, we went to a local deli and bought fresh salami, formaggio cheese and homemade pesto for a picnic in a park! This was one of my most favorite (and delicious) memories of the trip.

Very sugary start to the day

Really no caption needed...

Spaghetti all'amatriciana (round two...the sauce is that good) and spaghetti carbonara

I enjoyed the prettiest cappuccino at a cafe near the Colosseum.

Overlooking the Roman Forum

This was by far the best view of the city!

Last meal in Roma :(

Yes I had gelato twice a day for three days straight...no regrets at all!

Stay tuned for more posts of outfits and my travels!

Hola Barcelona!

Location: Placa de Catalunya, Barcelona, Spain
Shop this look: Anthropologie turtleneck sweater // Tobi coated jeans // J. Crew sunglasses (similar)
Musse & Cloud snakeskin booties // Louis Vuitton purse

Hola from Barcelona! This has been the most surreal week of my life as I jetted across the world to Europe for the very first time. And luckily, it's not over yet because I will be studying in Barcelona, Spain for the next four months! Even though I have only been here for about seven days, I have gotten to experience so much of what Barcelona has to offer — beautiful parks, historic basilicas and monuments, out-of-this-world nightlife, fabulous shopping, quite a few sneaky pickpockets (I've avoided them so far!) and of course, THE FOOD! Don't even get me started on the yummy chocolate croissants, colorful gelato and juice stands and savory-smelling tapas that surround me even on my walk to school. I am probably going to have to dedicate an entire blog post to the food because it is that good!

Below you can find a photo recap of my trip so far. And be on the lookout for new outfit posts soon that will hopefully give you style inspo for your next adventure. Hasta luego!

One of the first photos I took on a walking tour of the Gothic Quarter. I love all of the palm trees!

The stunning Catedral de Barcelona!

At Opium nightclub — if you can't tell, I am a bit too obsessed with turtlenecks this season!

After walking up the stairs of the Metro, we found ourselves outside Gaudi's house at sunset.

Glad I get to explore Barca with these gals!!

The Ultimate Gift Guide

It is finally the most wonderful time of the year! I love decorating the tree, wrapping presents and watching all of my favorite Christmas movies like Christmas Vacation and Home Alone. Did I mention eating all of the cookies and candy canes in sight?

However, now that I am in college, the holidays seem just a little less cheery. Between walking in blustery conditions to class and cramming for four back-to-back finals, I nearly forget to enjoy the season. To remind myself, I have been trying to listen to my favorite Christmas tunes while studying and I even put up a miniature tree in my room.

But in just one week, finals will be over and I can finally focus on celebrating the season with my friends and family!  Here is my gift guide for all of the fabulous gals in your life (and you may want to add some of these to your own Christmas list...).

For the lady:

For the coolest girl you know, stick to neutrals and clean lines, and stay away from busy patterns. Give her a gift better than Santa himself with a sharp-looking watch or black shades.

For the explorer:

Metal marquee letter // Chup socks // Jeffrey Campbell boots

For the girl who makes every day an adventure, whether its traveling, hiking or just exploring new parts of town, give the gift of function and fashion — with durable, vintage-inspired items that can withstand her lifestyle.

For the athlete:

SHOP: Zella leggings // Nike vest // Lululemon backpack // Fitbit watch
Happy Plugs headphones // NutriBullet blender // Nike Roshe shoes // S'well water bottle

All of these items are perfect for the girl who doesn't need a New Year's Resolution to head to the gym. I'm especially obsessed with the S'well water bottle, which comes in a variety of stylish hues and patterns.

What are your favorite gifts to give during the holiday season?
