I interned at the New York Times during the summer of 2016. I was a copy editing intern, which means I edited stories for grammar, accuracy and style. I also wrote headlines and social media posts.

The Chief series: This is a four-part series I wrote about how the tradition of the Chief Illiniwek mascot continues on campus despite its ban in 2007. It focuses on how and why the Chief has remained a prevalent image, and the mark it has left and will eventually leave on the C-U community and those of Native American heritage.
