Neutrals with a Pop of Pink!

Photos by: Elise Kozal (www.elisekozal.com)
Shop this look: Loft pink ruffle sleeve tee (another here) // Target X Bauble Bar earrings //
Articles of Society white jeans // J/Slides slip-on sneakers // Kendra Scott bracelet //
David Yurman bracelet // Pandora pearl ring // Zara backpack

I have been wanting a pair of earrings like these for months but couldn't justify spending $50 to 100+ on them. Lucky for me, I went to Target to buy mascara and came across the SAME earrings for only $10.39!! And yes, I get very sidetracked at Target! I love the white earrings because they will match nearly all of my summer dresses but they also come in black and white stripes, royal blue and turquoise. I was even more excited to learn that BaubleBar teamed up with Target to create this line of trendy but reasonably priced jewelry called SUGARFIX. There are lots of other cute styles like tassel earrings and sparkly chokers. You can shop the full collection here. As for my outfit, I went for a casual but polished vibe, perfect for those last few days of studying before summer. During the day, I will more likely wear pearls but switch to the white statement earrings at night to dress up the look.

Dresses for Every Spring Party

Shop this look: J. Crew dress (old, similar here) // Lisi Lerch tassel earrings

It's officially May which means it's the start of party season! Whether it be college formals, weddings, graduation parties, or even just Mother's Day brunch, there's a high chance you will be needing a dress this month. I graduate from the University of Illinois this month so I'm sure this orange and blue look shown above will be on major repeat. I've rounded up some of my favorite styles of the season — think bold colors like yellow and red and girly details like off-shoulder necklines and embroidered flowers. I've also included some more structured dresses with higher necklines and lower hems, which are guaranteed to be timeless and elegant for a graduation ceremony. Ready, set, get shopping!

Springtime in D.C.

Last weekend, my mom and I took a last minute trip to Washington, D.C.! I will be interning there this summer and had never been so I wanted to familiarize myself with the city and figure out my living situation. I have to say, it was love at first sight. It was pouring when we arrived but I already loved the charming streets of colorful rowhouses and history around every corner. We were only there for the weekend, but I was sure to make a quick stop at Georgetown Cupcake — those cupcakes are so worth the hype! We also went to the famous Tidal Basin by the Jefferson Memorial where the National Cherry Blossom Festival takes place. Unfortunately, many of the blooms that surround the water died, but we were still able to see some beautiful trees. I can't wait to explore the city more this summer and I can already think of so many fun blog opportunities, so stay tuned!

Street to Swim

I didn't take a ton of blog pictures on my trip but I thought I would share how I styled my swimsuits! There is so much more to do in Miami than just the beach so I wanted to have outfits that could transition from the street to swimming. On one day I wore this flowy white romper as a swim coverup, which easily doubled as a cute outfit for brunch.

Shop: TJ Maxx romper (similar) // Ray Ban sunglasses // Nine West tan sandals (similar)

Shop: Pacsun green ruffled bikini // Kate Spade bar earrings

On another day I wore this black swimsuit from Missguided! I love the trendy tassels and since they cover a bit more, I chose to wear it as a crop top on the street with high-waisted denim shorts. I also added some fun turquoise accessories for a pop of color. By the way, if you are a college student, Missguided has an amazing student discount so don't check out without it!

South Beach Style

Shop this look: Colorful maxi dress (old, shop similar ones below) // Kate Spade earrings //
Guess espadrille wedges (similar) // Louis Vuitton bag // Turquoise bracelets (bought on the beach, similar here)

I just back from a much-needed vacation in South Beach for spring break! Miami is such a vibrant place with music, culture and food so I thought it was the perfect time to break out this bold maxi dress that has been in the back of my closet for a while. Usually I stick to blue, white and neutral colors in my wardrobe so this look was different for me but I loved it! I went with more understated accessories like a brown bag and brown wedges so the dress could really stand out. Here are some other fun patterned maxis available this season if you want to try my look:

Friday Faves: Spring Break Edition

For exploring:

Shop: 1. Gucci tee (more affordable versions here) // 2. Statement drop earrings // 3. Forever 21 jeans // 4. Rebecca Minkoff backpack // 5. Sonix iPhone case // 6. Marc Fisher wedges

This Friday Faves is dedicated to spring break! Mine is this week and I'm so excited to be going to Miami on Monday. I'd wear this outfit to the airport or when walking around the city. It's casual and cool with a graphic tee and backpack, but still polished with espadrille wedges and statement earrings.

For the beach:

Shop: 1. Pacsun bikini (amazing price) // 2. H&M dress // 3. Straw tote (cheaper version here) //
4. Rayban sunglasses // 5. Sam Edelman sandals // 6. Kendra Scott earrings

I like to keep things simple when going to the pool or beach. It's still possible to be fashionable though, with trendy sandals (I'm loving all the pom-poms this season!) and an off-shoulder cover-up.

For a night out:

Shop: 1. Free People dress // 2. Castaner wedges // 3. Michael Kors gold hoops //
 4. Francesca's clutch // 5. Karen London lariat necklace //

I am OBSESSED with this dress. It's so fun to twirl around in and has a beautiful exposed back. I bought it in a dark raspberry color last summer and will definitely wear it out in Miami. Since the dress makes such a statement on its own, I'll opt for delicate accessories. This navy clutch from Francesca's is definitely on my wishlist too.
